SCA Council meetings

Meetings are held in the Village Hall at 7.30 (unless otherwise notified).

Agendas for these meetings are normally sent to registered representatives of paid up organisations and individual Council members. If you are not in this category and would like to receive an agenda please .

Any person is welcome to attend these meetings, and details are posted on the notice board in the Village Hall.

bulletSpring Fair - Saturday 31st May
Plant stalls, cards, bric-a-brac, tombola and refreshments. Spondon Village Hall, 9.30am to noon
bulletCanal Walk - Thursday 26th June
Part of the City Council "Lets go wild in Derby" programme. "Join Spondon Village Improvement Committee and Derby and Sandiacre Canal Society for a four-mile, 6.8 kilometre easy walk along the route of the former Derby and Sandiacre Canal. Explore its history and wildlife and find out about the plans for the canals restoration. This walk is mainly along  flat, surfaced paths, although sections are on dirt and grass paths, which can be wet and muddy. Lunch (if wanted) can be purchased at the Navigation Inn, Breaston. Choice of buses back to the start point. The walk can be extended (not escorted) to Sandiacre and Long Eaton. Meet in the B&Q car park, off Megaloughton Lane, Spondon, GR SK395353. "

Spondon Historical Society

Meet regularly in the Village Hall on the 2nd Monday of the month, starting at 7.30pm.  Visitors £1.

The Historical Society also maintain an archive of material.

Asterdale WI

Asterdale WI meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. It goes without saying that we welcome any new members to our meetings.

Activities at Edmund Hall

Edmund Hall is on Edmund Road, Spondon and provides a variety of activities suitable for all ages. There is a car park and it is fully wheelchair/buggy accessible.

Area Panel 1 has now been replaced in Spondon by the Neighbourhood Forum and all Spondon residents are welcome to attend. The meetings (which start at 6.30pm) are as follows:
