Spring Fair - Saturday 31st May
Plant stalls, cards, bric-a-brac, tombola and refreshments. Spondon

Canal Walk - Thursday 26th June
Part of the City Council "Lets
go wild in Derby" programme. "Join Spondon Village
Improvement Committee and Derby and Sandiacre Canal Society for a
four-mile, 6.8 kilometre easy walk along the route of the former Derby
and Sandiacre Canal. Explore its history and wildlife and find out about
the plans for the canals restoration. This walk is mainly along flat,
surfaced paths, although sections are on dirt and grass paths, which can
be wet and muddy. Lunch (if wanted) can be purchased at the Navigation
Inn, Breaston. Choice of buses back to the start point. The walk can be
extended (not escorted) to Sandiacre and Long Eaton. Meet in the B&Q
car park, off Megaloughton Lane, Spondon, GR SK395353.
